Users often look for a built-in feature to schedule messages directly within the iPhone's Messages app, similar to scheduling emails. However, direct message scheduling is not a native function of the Messages app on iOS.
Troubleshooting Steps
You can achieve a scheduled text using the Shortcuts app as a workaround:
- Open the Shortcuts app.
- Navigate to the Automation tab.
- Tap the + icon and choose Create Personal Automation.
- Select a trigger, such as Time of Day, and set your desired sending time. Tap Next.
- Tap Add Action, search for "Send Message," and select it.
- Enter the recipient and the message content.
- Tap Next.
- Review the automation. Note that for sending messages, iOS usually requires a final tap to confirm sending for security.
- Tap Done.
