HurriZone Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 16, 2026

HurriZone ("the app") is a hurricane tracking and preparedness app for Florida. Our policy is simple: we do not collect, store, or sell your personal data.

Data we do not collect

The app has no user accounts, no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no tracking of any kind. We operate no servers of our own and never receive your data.

Location

If you grant location permission, your location is used on your device to show your position on the storm map and to check your Florida evacuation zone. Your location is never stored by us or transmitted to us.

The in-app map is provided by Apple MapKit. Apple may process map requests according to Apple's privacy policy in order to display map tiles.

Addresses you check or save

When you check an address, its coordinates are sent directly from your device to public government data services (the National Weather Service API and the Florida Division of Emergency Management / ArcGIS evacuation-zone map service) solely to return zone and alert information. Saved addresses are stored only on your device.

Camera and photos

If you grant camera or photo-library permission, you can add photos to the Insurance Vault. Photos stay on your device (and in your personal device backups, such as iCloud Backup, if you have those enabled). We have no access to them. Photos leave your device only when you yourself export or share them.

Subscriptions

Premium subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple ID (StoreKit). We do not receive your name, email address, or payment details.

Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

Notifications

Storm and severe-weather notifications are generated locally on your device by comparing your saved addresses with public forecast data. No push-notification server is involved.

Data sources and disclaimer

Storm data is provided by the NOAA National Hurricane Center and the National Weather Service. Evacuation zones are provided by the Florida Division of Emergency Management ("Know Your Zone"). HurriZone is an independent informational tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by NOAA, the NWS, or the State of Florida. Always follow evacuation orders and instructions from local emergency officials.

Children

The app does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
